Credit Controller

If you’re a Credit Controller who likes ownership, hates being micromanaged, and wants to work in a fast-moving business where finance actually matters, this could be for you.

This isn’t a “sit quietly and send statements” kind of role. They need someone confident chasing debt, building relationships, managing applications and retentions, and taking real responsibility for cash coming into the business.

You’ll report into the Credit Manager and take ownership of a busy ledger across multiple entities, including a £15m turnover service-led division.

The environment is fast paced, commercially focused, and suits someone who likes being trusted to get on with the job.

What you’ll be doing:

• Chasing overdue debt and keeping cash flow healthy
• Managing customer relationships and key accounts
• Posting and reconciling cash receipts
• Producing statements and handling account queries
• Carrying out credit checks and monitoring exposure
• Working closely with sales and operational teams
• Managing payment applications and retentions end-to-end
• Reconciling balances and maintaining accurate ledgers
• Chasing retention payments in line with contract terms
• Supporting wider finance reporting where needed

What do they need?

• Previous Credit Control experience
• Someone proactive and commercially minded
• Confident communicator who isn’t afraid to pick up the phone
• Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills
• Organised, driven, and capable of managing workload independently
• Team player with a positive attitude
